European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) have launched a digital maturity assessment tool that will help SMEs identify their strengths and weaknesses in the digital transformation of their business.

The tool is open to all businesses and available free of charge in 32 languages.

Businesses can use this tool to evaluate their maturity across six key criteria: digital business strategy, digital preparedness, digital skills enhancement, data management, automation and intelligence, and green digitalization. With this perspective, SMEs can plan their digital growth more effectively and receive personalized advice from their local EDIH centers. Additionally, other actors, such as The European Enterprise Network and industrial clusters can leverage the digital maturity assessment tool to help their SMEs digitize and use artificial intelligence.

The EDIH network, comprising 228 hubs, is dedicated to strengthening the digital capabilities of businesses and public sector organizations. With 151 hubs financed by the "Digital Europe Programme" and another 77 through national funds, the network focuses on a wide range of technologies, from artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and cybersecurity to robotics and smart cities. Digital Europe Programme of the Commission and 77 supported by national or regional resources, the network will be a catalyst for digital innovation and growth across Europe.

The digital maturity assessment tool will contribute to achieving the Digital Decade's objective of a 75% adoption rate of AI, cloud technology, and/or big data by European enterprises. The network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH), together with AI Office currently underway, will be a one-stop-shop for SMEs and public services seeking AI and digital transformation solutions.
